A swarm of locusts teases a herd of horses. A four-wheeled vehicle drives into the herd. It pulls behind its riders, the horses, and the insects. The gallop is more and more dynamic, gravediggers prepare coffins for crazy drivers.

"Red" Hall, a burglar is a witness and he extorts the money from Rita. Then Ralph enters. realizes what is happening and makes the mistake of telling Rita he is no longer infatuated with her. She reacts by covering him with a revolver, and telephones the police, and Ralph soon finds himself in prison. Meanwhile, "Red" Hall is forcing Rita to give masquerade balls so he can rob her friends. Ralph, with the help of a convict pal. "Tug" Riley, escapes from prison and has a plan to prove Rita was the party to killed her husband.
